Need some advice weight- related
I am almost 19 weeks pregnant and have gained almost 10lbs so far. I feel good and trying not to worry aout the weight. Pre pregnancy I was 125 and 5'6. I feel like everyone is looking at my body and judging how much weight I've gained and it's make me uncomfortable. When ppl say my belly is getting big I'm fine with that but my FIL commented last night that my face filled out and someone else told me my butt got bigger. It makes me very self conscious and I don't want to feel like that bc I am going to gain a lot more weight!
I guess I do have some body image issues but how do you handle the weight gain and people always looking and commenting? Am I the only one that feels like this?

Re: Need some advice weight- related
I know its easier said than done but really all you can do is ignore it. People can be so rude and they think the fact that you are pregnant gives then a right to say what they want. You are growing a life inside of you and as long as you and LO are healthy, try not to worry about the numbers on the scale!
And fwiw I had my baby less than two weeks ago and I am down 30lbs. I definitely have some work to do to get my body back to semi normal but it does eventually come off!

Whoever's telling you these things is an idiot (sorry) so please don't listen to them! You are growing a baby and it's totally normal to gain weight. You will lose it again once LO is born!
That said, i'm in a similar boat so I do understand your frustration with the weight gain. I tell myself the above almost daily but it's still difficult

You just have to try to ignore it ~ I know it is hard. I am very self conscious also.

Re: Need some advice weight- related
I'm so sorry you feel this way. First off, ppl just dont think when they say things like that. They have no idea how it makes you feel. If they fully understood, no one in their right mind would open their mouths.
Secondly, its up to you if you are going to allow their stupid comments to over shadow all amazing things happening to you right now. I hope you dont b/c you can always loose weight, you cant get this time back and why waste it by focusing on weight of all things??? Now is the time to focus on that baby, you and DH. As long as your dr's say you are fine than IMPO, you should either tell ppl to "go scratch" either out loud or in your head.
I went through this w/MIL last night. There are many wonderful things about her as a person but she does not think b/f she opens her mouth . On more than one occasion, she has commented that the baby is "big" or the Drs are wrong and I am further along than they think. Last night she looks at me, mind you I'm 23 wks and all belly in the front, and says"WOW, your big! I hope the clothes I bought for you 2 months ago still fit." I'd had it at that point, I turned and looked at her said said that I am fine, healthy weight and the baby is perfectly normal. My belly is going to get big b/c IM FREAKING PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I walked away from her.
So, I'm sorry to say we all have these inconsiderate idiots in our lives who say stupid things.

Re: Need some advice weight- related
People are just either ignorant &/or have any idea of what they are saying or how it effects the person
for some reason people feel it is perfectly ok to comment on weight or how you look when you are pregnant
Just know this...you are creating life and if you gain 10lbs or 80lbs it is all worth it when you look at your child
There will be days that you hate the way you look (prego & post) and there will be days that you look at yourself and your body and be amazed and appreciate every aspect of what you and your body has accomplished! Just be sure on the bad days remind yourself

Re: Need some advice weight- related
People will say anything to pregnant women that they would never say to anyone else and it's terrible. I've had my fair share of unsolicited comments but thankfully the occasional "omg, you look great for 8 mos preg" helps me forget all the negativity.
