Need recommendations for SHORT book or DVD (even better) on handling toddlers (discipline, sleeping, etc)

DH cares for DS #1 (21 months old) at home until 1pm when we have a babysitter come.

Well, yesterday I learned that he has been putting DS in the pitch DARK BATHROOM with the door shut (it has no windows) for his time out.

I was mortified that this was happening while I was at work. I told DH to NEVER do that again and I am trying to keep my cool because DH really doesn't know any better. His parents disciplined him by hitting him. So, I am telling myself that at least he didn't turn to that?

Anyway, can anyone recommend an easy-to-read Book about toddler discipline, strategies, sleep habits, etc? A DVD would be even better, but not sure if that exists.

Thanks in advance.

wow, I don't know if this will help you but I love "Happiest Toddler on the Block" it comes in DVD form and Book Form. The DVD is great to actually show you the wacky method. But its really a different way of looking at kids, and treating them like adults. That I really respect.

Ohhh, I forgot about that series. I actually bought the happiest baby on the block DVD for DH way back when... I will try it! Thanks!
