Need quick answer- Where do you put 6 month old when out to eat?

I think I've lost my mind a bit here . . . I'm going out to lunch with my grandma with 2 y/o DD and 6 mo old DS. I have never attempted this before. When DD was a baby, we rarely took her out to eat becuase I felt it was ruined the meal.

DS is too young to sit in the restaurant high chairs so I'm not sure where to put him while we eat. I'm guessing bring in his infant car seat and hope for the best? Where do you put it though? On the table? In the booth? DD will be in the high chair if that makes any difference. We're planning to do a Fridays or Applebees so any noise shouldn't be too bothersome.

Most restaurants have slings that will hold the car seat.

Or we'll ask for a big booth and put the car seat in it.

eta: we took DD in her car seat out to eat all the time.

We had DS in the high chair by 6 months. We stopped using our carrier at 4 months. But when we did have him in the carrier I would either have a high chair flipped over to hold the carrier or slid the carrier in a booth.

I think DD was sitting in the restaurant high chair at 6 months with the cart cover over it. She would not have been happy in her carseat at that age. Another option would be to bring a booster seat and strap it to a chair. We have the fisher price one - it's only about $20 and more secure than the big high chair if they don't sit great yet.

we take our infant seat out with us and depending on where you go it fits in the highchair (assuming its one of the wooden ones)...flip it upside down and sit the infant seat right in it.

otherwise we have just kept it on the stroller and put it at the table in place of a chair

We used the infant carrier till 7-8 months because she could not sit up. We go out to eat alot and either put it in the booth or in one of those slings. My DD was always good and quiet but we would hold her if she got antsy. We also started solids at 6 months so we would give her a puree to entertain her and brought her chew toys!

At that age, I think we used a portable high chair that could be strapped onto a restaurant chair.

I keep my 6 month old in his infant carrier and use it with the snap and go in restaurants. we get a table and they move one chair to accommodate the stroller

I put dd in the high chair at the restaurant by 6 months.

The infant seat in the snap and go actually doesn't seem much bigger than a high chair. I roll my 4 month old up to the table in that, or put her infant seat next to me in a booth.

DD is 4 months and we just flip the highchair and put the car seat on it. We've also put her in a highchair, we use the shopping cart cover. She likes to see everyone and whats going on.

You can have a 2nd high hair for the baby and you flip it over and place the car seat on that

I bought a portable highchair that attaches to the table. It's so great because it gets her closer to the table to she can actually eat and get it in her mouth. She' 9 months and we still use and love it.
