Need potty training help!
Midnight will only pee on the puppy pads. He will poop near it but not on it. When I see him getting ready to poop I put him on the puppy pad but he doesn't go.
What can I do?????

Oh those were the days!!!! - LOL
I feel your pain, my puppy did the same thing.
It gets better and easier, just hang in there. Bella used to only pee on the pad and poop in several spots, but never on the pad. I used to grab her and put her on the pad just like you are doing, just stick with it and it will get easier. They will learn!!
What might help, get one of those pad holders. This will teach him to go within the lines if you know what I mean. It may take a little while, but dogs are so smart and they will get it.
Just wanted to add, so you don't feel as if you are alone here. We used to stalk Bella because we knew she would not go #2 on the pad, so if we were watching TV or something, we had to watch her with the corner of our eye all the time, if we saw her ready to go, we would jet across the room and grab her and put her on the pad.
Now she never has an accident and goes over to the pad like clock work.

We never used the pads.
We would feed Kasey and then about 10 minutes later take her outside to go, we would use (and still do) the prompt of "Let's go potty". If she didn't go then we'd go back inside but she'd have to stay in the kitchen, 10 minutes later we'd take her back out. We'd keep doing this until she went. When she did we'd make a huge deal about it, praise her like crazy.
If she had an accident in the kitchen we'd tell her "No, bad girl" and bring her out to show her that's where she's supposed to go. Sometimes we'd see her "going for it" and take her out right away. Even if she was done going we wanted her to get used to the routine of going out.
It takes time and as she's learning your routine, you'll learn her signals. Now we know that when she starts pacing the room that she needs to go out. Kevin also taught her to touch her paw to the back door when she needs to go, but that came later.
Labs are quick learners, so Midnight should be able to pick this up pretty soon. Good luck!!

This is exactly what I do as well. I will watch him through the corner of my eye and as soon as I see him squatting I run over and put him on the puppy pad. But he changes his mind and decides he doesn't want to go anymore.

instead of picking him up when you catch him getting ready to #2, put a paper or pad underneath where he already is.

It will get easier and he will get it in due time. Personally I always put the pad in the same place, so Bella knew where to go and this way she did not learn that it was ok to go where ever she felt like going.

ITA! We took Riley out from day one...she was house broken within a month.
