Need pediatrician recommendation please

Thinking about changing pediatricians (not very happy these days :( and considering Dr.Elissa Rubin from Happy Healthy Pediatrics...

*How difficult is it to get appointments with her (not her partner)?

*How is she? Does she spend time with you and address all your concerns and questions or does she "blow" you off?

*Do you recommend her?

* What do you like about her? What do you dislike?

*HOw is her partner?

*Are they "on point" and good with the kids? (multiples?)

*Do you wait long when you have an appointment or is it a short wait? (about how long)

*How is the office staff?

*Do they have Saturday appointments? Late appointments during the week?

*How big is the office?

*How updated is her equipment? (measuring, weight scale, etc...)

*How clean and childproof is the office? (ours right now is not childproof at all. Office has glass top that can fall if moved to hard and outlets are in plain sight and uncovered...ahhh! even thought we have mentioned it countless times) I know is our job to keep an eye on them, and we do, but we are a bit outnumbered...LOL! and the elevator is not big enough for our triplet stroller. I am so sorry about all the questions, but want to know as much as possible :)

If your children see another pediatrician not far from Glen Head, please let me know if you recommend them and why

Need pediatrician recommendation please

I can't answer all of your questions but, I love Dr. Rubin. She takes her time with each patient which means sometimes you have to wait. I've never waited more than 20-30 minutes in her office. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a new appointment with her. Somebody mentioned in a different thread that she wasn't able to get an appointment with Dr. Rubin right away. Dr. Rubin answers all of my email questions right away. I love that she has a patient portal on her website where I can look up all of my DD's growth, etc. Dr. Rubin also has helpful handout sheets which my DH lived by when DD was a newborn! I am very happy with Dr. Rubin.

I just switched to the group from Village.
Since I needed an appt within 2 weeks I was told I had to see her partner. They told me if I wanted to wait a month I could see Dr. Rubin. My son needed his shots and it was a last minute decision to switch after I felt rushed at Village. I took the appt with her partner and they told me that if I am not happy I can easily switch to Dr. Rubin, I just need to make appt in advance.
I haven't see Dr. Rubin yet but I had heard great things from neighbors about her. What also really attracted me to the group was that Dr. Rubin and her partner are both LC. My son is 8 weeks old and I am BF so they were a great resource.
Her partner did not rush me at all, she spent 40 minutes answering all my questions and doing a thorough exam on my son. She made sure all my questions were answered. Also, they have a patient portal (as mentioned already) and they are great at answering the questions. I emailed them a non-urgent question and got an email back in less than 24 hours and was told if I have any other questions feel free to call. I dealt with two different receptionists, one was very nice and the other was fair. They do have a sick and well waiting room. The office was clean. They do have Sat appts, I don't know about nights. They are all EMR so you can access everything at home!

I really love Dr. Rubin, and I also like her partners a lot.

*How difficult is it to get appointments with her (not her partner)? I schedule the well visits well in advance, so I haven't had a problem seeing Dr. R. If I have to cancel, it is usually 2-3 wks before I can get in to see her.

* What do you like about her? What do you dislike? She's a sweetheart, really cares about the kids (and parents!). No complaints...

*HOw is her partner? I also really like Dr Saunders. My older DS sees her for well visits, and we like her. I don't know Dr. Somach too well yet, but she seems nice and she is also a LC.

*How big is the office? Not that big, but there is a sick and well room and an infant feeding room with rocking chairs.

*How updated is her equipment? (measuring, weight scale, etc...) No idea. But they are all EMR and they are responsive via email for non emergency questions (also, if you have a semi-emergency they are always available by phone!)

*How clean and childproof is the office? It is clean and pleasant, not the most updated place on earth, but it is childproof.
