need ot decide tonight- what to do with DD this summer?
I need to make a decision tonight on camp for DD. she will be 4 this summer (august). keep in mind, I will have a 2 yo and 3 mo also. andiWOHM 3xa week
option 1: send her to a "real" camp. camp runs form 9-4. she would goon the bus, so it means I have ot have her ready to go, dressed, bag ready by 8:15 or so. camp is only 10minutes by car from me, but figure the ride on bus a little longer. and I cant take her on the way to work, its 10 minutes hte wrong way, so adds 20 minutes to my time. anyhow, its 9-4, the camp goes from 3 yo to 7/8 yo. real camp, so lots of organzied activities, and they have a real pool. but its a long day. $1850 for the summer.
option 2: send to to a day camp my neighbor runs across the street. licensed. 10-12 kids, 2 or 3 teachers. she has a backyard, with baby pool/sprinklers. 9:30-3. more laid back, but no real pool. nanny will walk her. $1000 for the summer.
to consider:
1. pool difference (although I would probably take dd swimming on weekends).
2. my 2 yo is going to camp 9:30-12, also on my block, so maybe easier to drop them both off together in AM?
3. $$$
4. longer/shorter day, bus difference

Backyard camp... will be soo much easier to send them together....
& you'll have extra money to do more with them on the weekends!

Closer
Option #1 is such a long day with the bus and 9am-4pm for her age.

I voted backyard camp because of the hours. I think that is a really long day for a 4 year old. With the money saved you can do some fun weekend activities.

While I agree backyard camp sounds more appealing..close, less $, I wonder what the diff is btw the bus camp and daycare?? My DD spends far more hours at daycare and she is 2 1/2..
