Need Opinions
Long story short.. have rising beta numbers, but not as high as they should be for 5w4d. Had a sonogram this morning and no sac visible in uterus or in fallopian tubes so my RE said that since it is not viable, the tissue needs to be removed.
I have 2 options.. the shot (I forget what it's called) but it means we can not TTC for another 3 months until shot is out of my system. or have a D&C type of procedure and we can try again within a month or so.
The problem is, since he can't see the tissue there is a chance that it is in a tube, and if I go through with the D&C and my beta numbers are still high, then I'll still have to do the shot.
I guess my question to you girls is.. what would you do? Did anyone get the shot and have extended periods of bleeding?
Both options stink, but I need some insight from others who may have been in this situation.
Thank you.

Re: Need Opinions
Why jump to do either? Can you ask about the option of waiting another couple of days and repeating the sono?

I was thinking that... my beta is low though.. 344. Shouldn't it be much higher at this point?

Re: Need Opinions
It should, yeah.. but I just mean that not every loss requires intervention. Of course you don't wanna have a problem where you wait and risk finding out it's in the tube, but I'd find out how long you can safely wait it out and continue to go for beta checks. In my opinion, the best thing is if it just resolves itself on its own (as long as it's not in the tube). Both the d&c and the shot come with their own risks.
eta: I wanted to add I am so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard and emotionally draining it is.

Re: Need Opinions
i'm so sorry you are going through this....i know the waiting game is awful. i agree with pennycat, i would 110% wait at least a few more days and ask for another sono. that way, no matter what you choose, you will know you did all you could

I'm so sorry
I agree with everyone too. Waiting a week for more bloodwork and another sono is a good idea before you jump to a procedure I think. I've never had this happen, but that's what I would do.

I'm so sorry you are going through this I also agree with everyone else. Wait it out a little bit longer before jumping to either option. Hopefully your body will take care of it on its own and you won't have to wait to try again.

Please don't jump to get the shot. I'm really curious to know what dr you see bc my 1st Ivf cycle they did this to me. They scared me into taking the shot and over 4 years later and i still wonder what wouldve come of it had i waited. did you do ivf? You won't see Anything until your beta gets to be 1000 or so from what I've been told as far as Sonos go. Please don't let them rush you into anything. Is your beta doubling? My current re won't even do a sono until 6 weeks, so I personally would give it more time. Hang in there and fm me if you want to talk. for you!

I agree. I waited it out against drs wishes and it ended up resolving on it's own. I managed to avoid the Methotrexate or a D&C.
