need name help....

We find out what it is in a few weeks so if its a boy we have a name Christopher James. We cant agree on a girls name. He likes Jessica and i like it but i dont LOVE it lie i LOVE christopher however I dont LOVE any girls name. I need suggestions..

Hers my thing:

I dont like cutsey, trendy or in the top 5 names. I am ok if the name has a cute nickname like Jessie for example but i like it to sound professional as well b/c my kid is not goign to be 5 forever and i dont think certain names sound appropriate for adults. I always say if my daughter grows up to be president and she has this cutsey first name its just sounsds weird to me.. Any idea. No particular letter ar anyting it has to start with.

TIA

I can't help you because I like Ava and Sofia and I think you would consider them trendy. But I wanted to tell you that I LOVE the name Christopher James!Chat Icon

You described just about everything DH and I didn't want either Chat Icon Nothing too cutesy for a child but not suitable for an adult, nothing too trendy or spelled differently just to look different, etc... ANd most of all we didn't want anything too common even in the top 20 that there would be like 5 in one class with that name. Go to this site, it sure helped us! Best of luck to you Chat Icon

Re: need name help....

I understand your struggle. For some reason, we are having more trouble with naming this baby than my other 2. And this is the first time we have narrowed it down by finding out the gender.

We liked the name Laura for a girl. You really dont hear it too much anymore - Lauren, yes but not Laura. Since we are having a boy it's out but it was "the one" according to my DH.

On a separate note: I was surprised by that Social Security list - my DHs name (Derek) is in the top 100. I had no idea it was that popular now.

Good luck - you will find the name, sometimes it takes time.

Re: need name help....

DH and I really like some of the more traditional names like

Elizabeth
Victoria
Mary
Margaret

We thought they were pretty, but not that common, as more people have gone toward the cutsey names.

Try this website too. It tells the popularity trend of names.

p/s - LOVE Christopher James
