Need more help with sleep

DS is 13 weeks. He mostly sleeps a 5-6 hour stretch until about 2am. Then he wakes up about every 2 hours (after I feed him) kicking his legs and moving his head back and forth until about 7-8am. When I can actually get him to nap during the day, he will sleep about 1/2hr, sometimes an hour. He wont just fall asleep on his own if he's in the rnp. When he wakes up in the morning or from a nap, he's screaming until i calm him down or he falls back to sleep in my arms.
So I have a couple questions: how can I get him to sleep a longer stretch after 2am? How can I get him to nap better? And why might he be crying when he first wakes up?

My DD used to scream her head off when she first woke up - she was hungry...Maybe you need to up his oz.? That might make him sleep better too.

Re: Need more help with sleep

I can't answer all your questions since I'm a new mommy myself but I wanted to mention what has been working for us. DD has been falling asleep earlier. If she falls asleep around 8 she will wake up around 2. So I try to give her a bottle before I go in for the night. Last night her last bottle was at 6:30 and she fell asleep at 8. So around 10 I changed her diaper and offered another bottle. She slept 10:30-7:30. HTH.

Are you swaddling? We use the velcro swaddles and noticed the nights he breaks out of them (when DH wraps him!) he wakes himself up..but if he is tightly wrapped he stays put, even if he wakes up he can put himself back to sleep when he's wrapped.

DD used kick her legs and all that fun stuff in the early morning. She was in a bassinet in our room and it was keeping us up even though she wasn't crying or anything. I started putting her down in the crib after she woke and was fed, usually around 3am and we all slept better after that. She'd sleep until 7 or 8am in the crib. After a week or so of that I started just putting her in the crib from the beginning of the night.

Tried the dream feed but it didnt work- probably need to try it a bunch of times. Any suggestiions for getting him to nap longer and more often during the day?

I'm a new mommy also but I always tried to have his last bottle around 8:30pm. So even if he ate at 6:30 I would give him a few ounces at 8:30. I would also try not not have him nap too late so if he falls asleep at 6:30 I let him sleep for an hour and then I wake him up so he will be ready for bed after his last bottle.

For naps we follow eat, play, sleep. He eats, plays on his mat for a while and then is usually ready for a nap. He usually takes a long nap in the morning 1-2 hours and then 2 shorter naps in the afternoon. I put him in his crib with his pacifier and little blanket bc he likes to hold onto something.

Is he still sleeping in the RNP? Maybe he is getting to big for it?
