need ideas- what did you do for your 30th bday?
My b-day is coming up and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. Ideally I would like to do something a little different. Right now the ideas being tossed around are do the normal at a bar party, rent a house with friends for the weekend, or spend the weekend in the city with DH. In a perfect world I would have liked to have gone away-away with DH, but of course he didn't act when I initially told him I was finding reasonable deals and now they've gotten too expensive.

My 30th b'day came in the middle of a H*LL project at work, I was working tons of OT and had no time for sleep.
So I was actaully at my office working late and my family and some friends suprised me by showing up with a big dinner, cake and gifts we ended up having an awesome time hanging out in the conference room at my office - I was totally blown away and touched.
It was a great and unexpected suprise

For my 30th Birthday I rented a private Karaoke room at a Thai Restaurant. I sang for over 4 hours.
I had a good time, but my guests had headaches.

That's what i would love to do. A month or so ago I found a great deal for like $560pp all-inclusive with air, but now that price has gone up a couple of hundred dollars. I knew Dh should have acted quick!

FOr my 40th, we took some friends and went on the WOrld Yacht for dinner and dancing around lower Manhattan.

Two of my friends and I threw ourselves a 30th party at Danfords since we were all turning 30 the same year. So we decided to combine and have an all in one. LOL 
A friend of mine runs it so he hooked us up pretty good.

Same here...DH gave me the choice on whether I wanted a party or to go to Atlantic City and stay overnight. I choose Atlantic City... I really did not want a party...

All the husbands treated the ladies (we were all turning 30 around the same time) for a whole day at the spa. We had such a good time. Had a private suite, catered dinner, wine, and all the services. It was heaven.
Then on another night, I went out to dinner with my DH.

I *think* I had dinner at Peter Lugers (Bklyn) with my parents and DH.
For my 40th in a few months, I wanted to go to Hawaii but I don't think it's going to happen.
