Re: Need help witha tool box
They sell picture hanging kits at Home depot. They are good to have. They probably have a similar set with some screws in it. I would get him one big and one small screwdriver, one big and one small phillips head screwdriver. A level. One hammer. Pliers. Duct tape. Gorilla Glue. Measuring Tape. Pencil. Utility knife. Phyl mentioned a Hatchet Wrench, I think she means Wratchet (sp?). Those are good, but honestly, DH has never used it here at home. I'm thinking of stealing it for my tool bag at work. Maybe get him an adjustable wrench instead(or a big one and a small one).
I would put it all in a tool bag that has pockets on the side so he can put smaller things in there. The tool boxes usually don't hold much.
You can also get him all kinds of power or cordless tools as well. A Drill, then you can get him bits for drilling holes. This is really for someone that really does work around the house in my opinion.
I'm sure I can think of a hundred other things! If you need more help, let me know!

Re: Need help witha tool box
What sort of stuff does he do? A toolbox varies greatly, depending on what tasks he does. Rough carpentry? (Wall studs, sheetrock, etc). Finish carpentry? (Furniture, molding, trim pieces, etc). Metalwork? Auto? Misc odds and ends?
I have several hammers, an almost full ratchet set, many screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, Dremel , lots of power tools, attachments for each power tool, several levels, duct tape, electrical tape, clear tape, masking tape, etc., etc. I do pretty much everything and anything around the house, so I need tools to do everything.
