Need help with spelling!
So we LOVE the name Keira if we have a girl. I was planning on spelling the name like Keira Knightley. Recently, I saw that some people spell it "Kiera". I'm a teacher and at school there are some Keira's in my buidling. Two of them spell it "Keira", another spells it Kyra and another is Kira. What do you think is the easiest and most common way to spell the name?

I feel like Kiera could be pronounced Kee-ERR-uh, so I would stay away from that spelling. I picked Keira, but I went to school with a Kira as well - either works!

I'd rhyme Kira and Kyra with Tyra like Tyra Banks.
I voted for Kiera because it's i before e but I did date a boy named Keir a long time ago and we have Irish friends whose names are Keiran, so I think that's the more Irish spelling.

My son's name is Kieran, so I may be a little partial  But I also agree with AP who noted "i before e"- I'm a crazy loon about that, and e before i bugs me. I think either Kiera or Keira are the most common, and I would definitely know how to pronounce either one if I saw it in writing.

if i saw keira i would see kee-ra
which pronunciation are you going for?

I before e thing for me, too...but for some reason Keira looks better to me. Kyra for me also rhymes with Tyra. And Kira as well.

If you want the traditional way that it is spelled in Ireland, it is Ciara. Kiera is not the spelling you would see over there
