Need help with how to pack china?
How do I pack up my china? is there something I can buy? I did a search and jotted down everyone's advice on where to get boxes, so I'm covered there but how do I pack my china, crystal, breakables? ugh, this is not fun!

Re: Need help with how to pack china?
i would go to staples and buy bubble wrap and get some newspapers. Wrap in the bubble wrap first and then pack the newspapers around the china so that they don't move around in the box.
good luck on your move!
eta: btw, the bubble wrap is expensive!

Re: Need help with how to pack china?
I used newspaper and bubble wrap for regular dishes. I got married in Oct so I never unpacked my china so I moved it in the boxes.

THey have these at BBB also. I got mine there for storage in the china cabinet at home. It was good because they were $30 and I used a 20% off coupon.

Re: Need help with how to pack china?
bubble wrap & newspapers work best. I also find its good to put cardboard between each plate to prevent them from clingy together. Also, mark the box fragile. I know when we moved, all our fragile boxes went in my Saturn Vue. We didn't put them in the Uhaul because they were more secure in the SUV, plus I drove so I had control over them.

Re: Need help with how to pack china?
I used photocopier paper boxes for china and crystal, and bubble wrap, so none of the boxes were too heavy. I had planned to move them myself, but our movers did it - not a single nic, scratch or break

I used these also but I took all the china and crystal in my car. We wrapped all of our regular plates and glasses in newspaper and a couple things got broken. Even if you mark it fragile things bump around in the truck and the movers are not always gentle. I didn't want to take my chances.

Re: Need help with how to pack china?
At U-haul you can buy a dish barrel box and they sell a cell kit that has all of the cardboard dividers that fit in the box. I would use that and tons of bubble wrap and packing paper. We just moved all of our china in the original boxes they came in since we had just been storing them in the attic. I haven't unpacked them yet (still waiting to get DR furniture) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing broke!

They sell kits at home depot. I didnt buy them because I was being cheap...I used newspaper and bubblewrap and broke 2 glasses because of my handiwork. If I had to do it again Id buy the kit.
