hmmm....
i have a nephew this age- there is this keosk in the mall that sells these wooden things and you make something out of them....some are dinosaurs etc etc....he seemed to really like that...

Spiderman is pretty in for 7-9 year olds. They have a couple of things on that Amazon sale that you posted about. They have a bank robbery heist scene for $7.99. It's worth looking at.

ok well i have a 9 year old boy..
he's mostly into legos.. there are lots of sets you can get for 19.99
he's also into video games.. depending on the system he has you can find a game for 19.99
other things he asked for this year
Pokemon champion island board game
computer games
transformers
erector set
there are some great book series for this age group too.. my son LOVES to read.
