Need help re: precertification and coverage of back to back IUIs! Urgent!!! Updated 8/23
No one I have spoken has been able to help me. Not at LI-IVF nor when I called the insurance company because it's not normal business hours!
We had an IUI today and they scheduled us in for another one tomorrow. Does this count as one IUI meaning my precertification should cover me for the back to back two IUIs or do you think it's only good for the one?
I'm so confused and no one can help me so far. If I am unsure I think we are just going to skip tomorrow and just BD.

ETS: I have empire blue cross blue shield if that helps.
Update: We decided to go to give it another shot since we could afford it if coverage fell through. Turned out one of the ladies from the SB office was there who is knowledgeable about these matters and she said pre-certification is for the whole cycle 
Just thought I'd post this in case this happens in the future for anyone else.

Cant't you call the insurance and ask them? Or go on the Website maybe.

I did. No one is there in the billing/pre certification area - only M-F 
The website is no help it's not specific.

Do you have a nurse at your insurance company that you can call? I have a nurse I can call 24/7, but have UHC.

I already did  No help.
I am wondering if we should just go and then try and submit an appeal if we get charged? Anyone have any luck with a similar situation?

I had Empire UHC and went to LIIVF (Center of Excellence). When I had B2B IUIs they were completely covered like everything else. I don't know if that helps you but I hope it does.

I wish I know for sure..but I know my RE considers back to back IUI as 2 seperate IUI's. I'm not sure how that works with precertification though. HTH

personally i would probably just do it and deal with it after but i don't know your financial situation,
if you had to pay for it out of pocket can you afford it? if yes then do it if not then maybe don't

I have coverage for 3 IUIs on my insurance with HealthNet and they treated the back to back IUIs as one, not two.
BTW, my RE office called and checked for me.
