Need help!! GMO's and the food we feed our kids
Our home is about 75% organic. I do my best to buy most of my groceries at Whole Foods & Trader Joe's. DS is 21 months and I feel this is what is best for him. But this GMO thing has me going crazy. He eats regular Cheerios, loves them. I discover that there is no proof that they do not use GMO's, so I buy the Cascadian Farms Purely O's. Only to find out that they are against Prop 37- so can I really trust this brand? Same for Kashi. DS loves the Kashi cereal bars, heart to heart cereal, & blueberry waffles. They are accused of using GMO's as well. So, now what? I feel like I try so hard to feed my son well and it just gets harder and harder. Obviously most of what we eat is fresh and unprocessed. I stopped buying goldfish and other "snacks". But when we are out and about, having snacks for the diaper bag is just so easy. Can you please recommend some of your favorite brands that use NO GMO's? I know Annie's doesn't, so I buy a lot of their products. TIA!!

I hear ya! It is very stressful! Trader Joe's sells their own version of Cheerios and fruit bars/snacks, their name brand stuff does not have GMOs. You can also make your own. Pintrest can be very useful! I have been offering a lot of fruit and yogurt lately.

Some name brands that have products that do not contain GMO's - But still check the labels because it might not be true for all of their products:
Earth's best - frozen stuff and snack food (they have breakfast foods to dinner foods all non-gmo and also the cheddar crackers, cookies, and cereal bars...)
Amy's - frozen stuff - my DD loves the mac and cheese.
Annie's - cheddar bunnies are a big snack hit!
Vermont bread company (their organic soft whole wheat I know for sure).
Ezekial - breads and cereals
There is one type of snyder's pretzels - i believe they are the organic whole grain ones. also the organic 365 pretzels at whole foods
Nature's Path Organic - they have a cheerio cereal that is non-gmo

I know Annie's - they have ceddar bunnies similar to goldfish. I've been buying whole foods 365 brand - on their website they say their brand name are from non GMO sourced ingredients.
Honestly, I am having a hard time with this as well. I started making my own breakfast items - pancakes, oatmeal bars etc. I make them once or twice a week to last for the whole week. That helps a lot.
It is very time consuming - i spend a lot of time during the week either thinking about, shopping, prepping or cooking food!!!

In a pinch - frozen waffles, french toast sticks etc. from earth's best and some van's are GMO free as well.

I second all the brands mentioned. Also, there are lots of recipes that are quick and easy to pull together. Make stuff in bulk and freeze it.

Annies cheddar bunnies and bunny grahams, 365 pita chips and bagged popcorn, late July crackers and corn tortilla chips, earths best cereal bars.

Annie's organic cheddar snack mix-- DS LOVES this; I get it at stop and shop.
Natures path pop tarts-- organic and non-GMO.
Earths best crunchin' crackers
365 morning o's-- just like Cheerios
Panda puffs, gorilla munch.
DS loves raisins and string cheese for snack. I also try to give fruits/veggies.
