Need help from BDTD moms - crib rail teething
First of all, happy New Year everyone
Now, my mini-crisis. Yesterday we found teeth marks all over DD's crib. She is 1 year old. We actually had her 1 year appointment yesterday, and asked the doctor about it. He said that we shouldn't worry, but we can cover it. I read very mixed reviews about the gummi rail covers, and last night I ordered the fabric rail covers from diapers.com. No local stores had them in stock, and we live in Brooklyn where its impossible to get around with the snow.
This morning, we put DD down for her nap, and saw her chewing on the rail in the monitor. DH went to lay her down, and then let out a gasp and brought her to me - her face was covered with white paint chips.
This is a high-end Stanley Crib.
We didn't know what to do, do not want her ingesting all the paint from the crib, and tied her bumpers, which we never used as bumpers, to the crib rails.
We thought this was a great temporary solution until the real covers come, but now I'm scared that it may be a safety hazzard? I'm wathcing her on the monitor diligently, but can't do that over night. She seems to like them there. What do you think?
What did you do?
Thanks for reading this far - I didn't mean for it to get so long.
I'm attaching pics so you can see what I am talking about.
TIA
ETA, I'm putting pics in my album because I can't figure out how to resize them. Please look and tell me what you think. Am I worrying needlessly, or am I crazy for doing this?

Happy New Year, and getting around in Brooklyn sucks even so many days after the storm!
Hope you don't mind, I'm inserting you images for BTDT moms. I don't know but to me it looks like a great idea!

Thank you!!!!!!!
I'd love any opinions on this. DH is fine with it, and she's napping now, but I'm scared to use them overnight.

I think using the bumpers for now is fine.
We have the fabric cover also. I'm actually ordering the covers for the side now since I saw DD chewing on the side rail recently. And we're in Bklyn too so I know what you mean about getting around.

i have the gummi one on the front side of the crib. of course DS went and chewed the other side..so the wood is all marked up. The gummi works fine..but im liking those fabric ones..i'm going to look for ones now b/c they're soo cute!!
