Need help deciding on a Cell Phone: Cool Apps or Blackberry Messenger among friends/family
I would like to get a new phone and am looking into the Storm2 or the Droid X. My dilemma is more compatibility among users. I LOVE the Droid X and it's features but also would like to be able to use Blackberry Messenger with my family and friends that have blackberry phones. I am trying to weigh out the pros and cons to decide what wins out- being able to messenger with my family/freinds or having a cooler phone with more apps. Would love to hear opinions from those having been in similar situations or that have these phones- thanks!

I would go with the cooler phone with more apps. A bunch of my friends have a BB and they ALL said they would switch to a droid/iphone if they could.

Just switched from BB to Droid X...LOVE LOVE LOVE the X. Best phone I have ever had!!
ETA: I got it with my new 2 every 2 discount and the $100 online discount + I googled for Verizon online promos and got another 10% off so it only cost me $89.99.

if you have unlimited text, then its clear you should do droid.
your family would need to text as well but it is common for people to have text packages...

switched from the bb to the droid incredible.
I love, love, love it. I did have the Eris & hated it though. Too small.
BB messenger wasn't a problem for me because I mainly email everyone.
And I think the camera in the Incredible is pretty good. I like that I can video or voice record.

same!
I had the storm and switched to the incredible. I don't know how I didn't throw my storm out the window!!! It's so frustrating compared to the ease of the incredible.

i switched from bb to sprint's evo...the best decision ever...my only complaint i the eamil feature b/c w/ bb u can delete from phone and keep in email (i used it often and rarely went online to save emails) but with the evo u can only delete the email and it will delete it from ur inbox too :(
other than that minor issue, the EVO is great...to me the bbm was the same as texting, so i didn't miss it muc, kwim?
