need endocrinologist recs for..... update
A doc who isntg a ********* and doesntg mind questions lol. Before my pg often my main thytoid numbers were normal but t4 were low and was treated on and off. Now pg its off again. Some endos would treat me but some wanted the tsh to be crazy bad before meds so I need a doc who is really up on the latest. Also I now have gestational diabetes. Before pg I had insulin resuistance so this doc needs to be able to treat bothj. In s nassau. Would love to get some names so I can set up appt for after b aby is born. Tiaaaaa!!!!
i called vaswani today adn they are closed.
i called aloia..and he only take osteoperosis patients now...and no other doctor has ANY APPTS till july
i will call vaswani again tomorrow...but if anyone else has any recs i would super appreciate it!

I use Dr. Vaswani in Garden City. He has managed my thyroid level very aggressively during both my pregnancies. He also works very closely with my OB. During both pregnancies I had to get a blood test every 6 weeks and was monitored.
eta: Dr. Vaswani also has a diabetes dietician on staff that works closely with people that have diabetes.

I see Dr. Aloia for my thyroid.
I was hyperthroid for YEARS - was on medication, that's stopped working. Got radioactive iodine treatment to destroy it and it leveled off for a couple years, now it's going slow so im on synthroid which will have to be adjusted every so often to get me to "normal"
He treated me with the synthroid when my PCP refused because my numbers weren't off enough!! But I felt like total crap, was gaining weight etc He treated my "Symptoms" with a small dose of synthroid first and then my numbers started to straighten out after that - and i started to feel so much better
He is such a sweet man. So helpful and makes you feel comfortable. I trust him completely!

I go here too. He's very nice, low-key, and never rushes you! I've never waited more than maybe 10 minutes in the waiting room either. Love him!

Jeez, I'm sorry. I wish I knew of another Dr. If I hear of anything I'll post here
