NEED COMFY SHOES ASAP!!!
Ok, So i just started a new job and I am commuting everyday from Long Island (LIRR) to the city. i have to do ALOT of walking and i have bought 3 different pairs of shoes this week and all 3 are going STRAIGHT IN THE GARBAGE.
2 were from aerosoles (one was flats and one had a small heel) and they were HORRIBLE!!!! and the last pair was Clarks and i thought they were so comfy and they too were horrible after a few blocks of walking! My dress attire for work is Business Casual and i am on my feet for a good part of the day and do ALOT of walking to and from Penn and during my job. PLEASE what does everyone do or buy? There has got to be someone in my situation!!!!! I cant take the foor pain anymore!!!!

Also, the brand ME TOO is super comfy - i can totally walk a mile to lunch and back in the them without even so much as a red mark let alone blisters or anything else.

I have a pair of merrells that i love, but they are not so fashionable looking.
I recently bought a pair of Jessica Simpson flats and they are my new favorite pair and I just ordered 2 more pairs in different colors!

ETA - if you are allowed tro wear sandals I SWEAR by the brand Onex. Most cmfy sandal ever - I have about 6 different styles and wish they made regular shoes!!

Get over the fashion factor - I am a shoe wh*re and I still wear my addidas to walk (ahem, run) from Penn across town to the office every day. I can then comfortably prance around the office in my 4" stillettos all day -
I was dead against being one of 'those people' when I started working in the city, but after a week of sliced up feet and ruined shoes........I put my sneakers back on !!

get a pair of skechers sneaks for the commute, then change when you get there. They make maryjane-looking sneakers in tan/black/white - not just a regular running shoe.

I completely agree with this. I wear sneakers and change into shoes at work. Wearing anything but sneakers to commute is not only uncomfortable but also slows you down. Catching trains is a game of minutes and I can't afford to not be able to walk fast!!

Keep in mind that most shoes need a little breaking in, so you may not want to throw them out so fast.
I wear these to work everyday. Somedays I bring heels to change into, today I am wearing them all day, with pants. I have them in 3 colors.
They are good & squishy & stay on my feet.

ETA- I have in the past had medium heels from Naturalizer & Hush Puppy that I could commute in, but they had ankle straps & I haven't found anything like that recently. I need my shoes to stay on my feet as I am running for the train.
