Need Advice..please
I have the option to come back to work after maternity leave 60%, which will be 3 days a week. My boss is really flexible and told me I can pick the days I want. Which would you pick MWF(every other day) or 3 consecutive days (TWTH)? And why? Please help...not sure what to do. I thought 3 days consecutive but dh thinks I should do MWF. btw--The baby will be going to daycare the days I'm at work.

Re: Need Advice..please
I would do 3 consective days, that's what i was going to do when I had the opportunity to work from home. I know for me, it would be easier on me and the baby to have them all in row instead of broken up.

Re: Need Advice..please
If I could pick, I would do something like Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. It's nice to have a 3-day weekend but then you're never away from baby for more than a couple of days at a time.

Re: Need Advice..please
I would go with three consecutive days because it will allow you to accomplish more during your shortened work week. Also, in my field, Friday's aren't as busy so people don't accomplish as much. Tuesday through Thursday would be my choice.

Re: Need Advice..please
I would think MWF so that way the baby doesn't miss u too much. Plus, it'll allow you to take care of home stuff without it piling up on you...

Re: Need Advice..please
I would do the 3 consecutive days. It would be easier to get things done around the house and you could go away a lot easier. If you did one on one off it would never give you a true break. I hope this helps.

Re: Need Advice..please
consecutive. this way work days you cam prepare yourself to work and home days yo ucan prepare your self to be home. also a more steady routine may be easier on the baby as he/ she grows. you may wnt to call the day care center and ask if what other part timers do. this way your little one will make friends better.... every other day seems hard to go to work i think. BTW awesome your boss is so flexable.

Re: Need Advice..please
IMHO it depends on what kind of work you do. I'm a lawyer and I can also come back P/T. In my case, court appearances aren't usually scheduled on Friday (just b/c of the law I practice), so MWF or WThF wouldn't work for me.

Re: Need Advice..please
I have done both and the MWF is easier for me and dd. I'm not completely and utterly exhausted by Wed anymore and DD doesn't have such a hard transistion from me to the nanny on Monday since she doesn't have mommy for 4 days straight and then she's gone for 3 in a row.

Long weekends are the best.... I would want 3 days in a row. More of a routine too...

Re: Need Advice..please
Its better for your child if they are in daycare for 3 days on the trot. Its confusing if they are in one day, out another.

I would do three days in a row. Probably the easiest for you and the baby. Plus you would get long weekends which is always nice.
