Need advice re: growing trees....
My father and mother are visiting and we just completed a google search on the tree that the previous owner put in by the front of our house.
It's a Japanese Maple Tree: Acer palmatum 'Emperor 1'
Does anyone here have this growing near their house, or what it looks like, and does it need a full direct sunlight?
Any help is appreciated!!!
TIA!

Is this it?? if so, we have one in front of our house as well....
Japanese Red Maple 'Emperor I'
Not only one of the most beautiful Japanese Maples but also the easiest to grow in a variety of extreme climates, Red Emperor is a compact, brilliant purple-leafed variety that will delight you from spring through fall with bold foliage and an elegant vase-like silhouette! Find a special place for this hardworking, very adaptable little tree!
From spring through summer, the wide, many-"fingered" leaves on this tree are a rich, deep purple. Then, when the fall chill arrives, they turn a brilliant wine-red! And no matter how hot and humid your summers get, Red Emperor won't green out. Color that fast is hard to find, and you'll love how Red Emperor holds out when other trees around it are melting!
If you've got a small garden or limited space left for planting a large accent, Red Emperor is the tree you need. Just 15 feet high and wide at maturity, it has a compact, manageable shape that needs no trimming to look symmetrical and tidy. Perfect for the patio, front-yard specimen, or central point of a shrub or perennial planting!
Like most Japanese Maples, Red Emperor thrives in full sun in northern climates, partial shade farther south. It's a fine "trellis" for your Clematis, its well-divided branches making perfect footholds for pink or blue varieties. It also makes a nice backdrop to Gaura in the sun and Heuchera in partial shade. The possibilities are endless with this adaptable tree!

Yes, that's it. It's only about 5 feet tall right now. We're just worried that it may be too close to the house - re roots into the foundation.
