Need advice please! (Long-sorry)
I'm not a regular poster..... but I do check this board consistently. I have found it to be an endless source of support and a wealth of information.
Background: I am 40yrs. old. No infertility coverage thru my insurance. Had 4 failed IUI's (self-pay). Then in Feb had 1st IVF (failed) thru DOH Grant (the cost share was still $$$ but significantly less than private cost). I am now 8 days into stim & not stimming very well. Today went in for monitoring, sono showed 1 follie 12 and 1 follie 10.5.
Previously, with all other stimming I reacted well. Never less than 8-10 follies. We are using the same protocol this cycle.
Throughout this experience I have really tried to remain hopeful & optimistic. My motto has been to take it step by step & don't get overwhelmed. Understanding that there are absolutely portions of this process that I can't control. But somehow this blow has really gotten me into a funk. I feel DEFEATED & DEPRESSED. I know this is really not healthy and doesn't help the situation. I guess I'm just fearful that this is the end!
Questions: Do you think it's possible they will cancel my retrieval?
If not, has anyone here ever had a success IVF after retrieving only 1 or 2 eggs?
Does anyone know if they cancel the cycle will I be eligible to do another cycle with the DOH Grant (I believe they only permit 2 rounds of IVF)
Thank you all for your help. Any advice is welcome and appreciated!

I'm not really sure about any of your questions, but I wanted to wish you luck.
I think the grant money is very strict. Not sure what options you will have with that going forward.
Hopefully your RE will go through with the retrieval anyway. I do know someone who had 3 follies and decided to continue and they got 7 eggs. Not sure how they missed the others, but that is possible (and she was at Cornell, so it was a good place). I also know of many women who got pg with 1 little egg, that turned into an OK emby and went on to give them their dream DC. Anything is possible. Your should give your RE a call as soon as you can and see what they think, they should be aware of your situation.
