Need advice on what to offer for item on craigslist

so, not to embarass myself, what would you offer on something like this? i think asking price is way too high..

I think it depends on the condition of the item and the brand of the item. See if you can email or go see it to get a better idea.

that is not an expensive price for a perfect condition Thomasville piece - KWIM. Brand new would probably be $1,500 or $2,000 or up...

How much can you get to his asking price? I wouldn't offer below $700, that is already $150 off and I would expect them to maybe come back at $800 or $775 or something.

I have sold a lot on craigslist, personally, I don't usually negotiate that much. But it depends on how quickly this person wants to sell.

Maybe try asking what they are willing to take for it......anytime I've placed an ad I've usually been offered 1/2 of asking.....

FYI... there is a similar piece at kohls new for $600......and I have a 15% off coupon if you want it...

I think its a really nice peice but I would definately see if you can get it for about $500- even that is a lot to spend on a used peice
