need advice, beyond P'OD at SIL
My SIL given me on and off problems since she got married about 2 yrs ago. She put it behind her, i have tried to forgive, but not forgotten and never will she said some really mean things she has said to me in reference to both my parents passing away, apparently she was drunk when she said it. Now she is pregnant with twins. I have been more then nice and there for her, which i think is very nice of me considering the background. fast forward to the shower, I gave her 500.00 in a gift card. She has made a few things for me as gifts to give and refuses to take money for it, even though I insisted , she did not take it. We helped put together the cribs a few weeks ago, and even had to take 1 back for them to LI , they live in NYC to exchange it becuase there was somethg wrong with it. Now she says to me, where are the bibs you were going to give me? ... you know I did not charge you for the frames I made!!! I was getting the bibs I had just not seen my friend that makes them in awhile. I am the type of person that will bend over backwards for family- she also would not help me when I desperately needed help last week and she was too busy when I know for a fact she was not busy. I want to mail her the bibs and a check for the frames- what would you do? how would you handle this situation? My sister is annoyed for me as well as my DH .

Sorry ~ I would mail the bibs and keep minimal contact with her at best. There is no rule that says you have to be friends with your sister in law. Also lesson learned - don't even ask her to make/do anything for you ever again!!!

I would mail her the money along with the bibs ~ just saying thanks and can't wait to see the kids in the bibs. Then never ask her for anything ever again. I always try to take the high road - plus she is pregnant and you don't want to be the one to upset her. Then from then on just try to keep contact minimal. You shouldn't have to deal with her BS!!!

I assumed you did not want any money for them after I insited to pay you and you refused. Oh well it must have been a miscommunication.
