Need advice

The house we are interested in has a price range of $369,000 to $428,896. We offered $359,000 and they counter offered with $418,000. Is $369,000 a good counter offer for us? DH said we are not going above $380,000.

Do you know if there is another bidder out there? Also, how long has the house been on the market for?

I think your # is a good start to go back at and work your way from there. The only thing I would be nervous about is if there is another buyer who is driving that # up. Feel them out and go from there.

yes- I wouldn't go too much higher then the low end of their range

where is the house? if it's in nassau county you can go on the assessment site and it tells you how much the house is worth. then you can get a better idea.

the good news is you started low and they countered. that means theyre motivated.

The house is in Suffolk County. And yes there is another offer out there. So the agent says. Who knows if that is even true. The house is in great condition but there are a few things its lacking like Central Air and Sprinklers.

I would counter with the 369k. That's the lowest they are willing to take, so it's not unreasonable!

I would conuter $369 although they probably want more than that. They only countered 10K less than their high range. Good luck!
