Need activity gift ideas for 14 month old

My nephew is 14 months old and well stocked in the toy department. I wanted to get them tickets to some sort of activity or places to go with him, but I haven't lived on LI in 7 years so I'm a little out of the loop.

Any suggestions? They live in new Hyde park.

I'd also take manhattan suggestions for my 2.5 year old nephew

They wouldn't be too far from the queens zoo, which is a good small do-able size for a toddler (may be best to wait til spring though...).

Your other nephew may love the transit museum in downtown bklyn. It is a hidden gem and small boys love love it. And it's really interesting for adults too. It's actually in an old subway station, so one level is lots of kid-interactive activities, and a mini hands on museum, and then you can go down to the "platform" where all old subway cars are and you can go in them.
