Nautical Mile Freeport

Hi ladies.

I live in queens and since we are not going away this Memorial weekend we are thinking of visiting Nautical Mile for a day for food and drinks!
We are thinking of getting the LIRR to Freeport which seems to be the closest. Is it easy to get cabs from the train to Woodcleft avenue? Or is it a long walk. We don't want to drive as we will be enjoying a few cocktails!!

Also any recommendations on what to do there or where to eat?

TIA

It's a decent walk so I would cab it.

Yep!

And I also like EB Elliiots, the Riverhouse Grille and Ottos (even though I was there Sunday and their service was atrocious)

DH and I love Pier 95, which is just off the Nautical mile. They have the most delicious baked stuffed 2 lb lobster.

The Schooner is actually up and coming. It's all the way at the end until you can't go no more before ocean. LOL

From what I heard, their food has improved.

There probably won't be a cab waiting to take you back to the LIRR so make sure to grab the phone number to get a ride back.

I woudn't walk that far.

While you can theoretically walk from the train station to Woodcleft, it is a very long walk. I would say maybe 2 miles.

There are some small shops on the nautical mile that you can browse and there is a miniature golf place too. You can grab some ice-cream and in the summer several places have live music outside.

Me too but the OP wanted to know about cocktails. Some are more "cocktail" friendly than others.

I LOVE the Nautical Mile!!! I've been to Otto's, Schooner, EB Elliots, Rachel's, and Hudson & Mc Coy and all of them are soo good!!!

Def. cab it from the train station because it's a bit of a hike.

Have fun!!! Chat Icon
