Natalee Holloways remains possibly found
A new tip in the Natalee Holloway investigation has led to the discovery of human remains in Aruba, 12 years after the teenager disappeared while vacationing on the tropical island to celebrate her high school graduation.
A former roommate of Joran van der Sloot's best friend told Natalee's father Dave Holloway that the young woman was buried in a park near her hotel on the island.
That man, Gabriel, said van der Sloot disposed of the body with help from his father Paulus after Natalee choked to death on her own vomit soon after she was given a drink that had been spiked with GHB.
Van der Sloot revealed this to his best friend John, who then repeated the information to Gabriel while the two were living together over a decade ago.
Dave announced on Wednesday while appearing on Today that he followed up on that tip, and soon after remains were found.
Those remains are now undergoing DNA testing and results should be back in the next month, which could finally lead to some closure for the family of the missing Alabama teenager.

I really hope it's her so the family can get some closure. Van Der Sloot is a scumbag and I'm sorry he never got caught the first time since he ended up murdering someone else...

Isn't he in jail for attempting to murder another girl in a hotel room or something?

Oh it wasn't attempted. He did murder her. He's in jail for 28 years for that. AND he also has a baby now! Who in earth is attracted to these murderers behind bars is beyond me.

I agree but in 12 years this lead has the most promise. It did actually lead to human remains. Now we just wait a month or so for the DNA tests to conclude.

This definitely has the most promise. I really hope it's her for her family to get some closure. but I thought for sure he dumped her in the ocean. Just based on my own research and opinions. I stayed at the same hotel she did in Aruba. They do not like talking about her.

Yes I remember this! I was really into this case and followed it closely. Glad that her parents might finally get the closure they need

Just based on Wikipedia info they met when she was "selling goods" inside the prison.
I doubt this was a crazy person falling for a muderer (which happens)
More likely a very poor girl with zero options. I wonder if they "forced" a marriage if he knocked up some poor hooker. Could be a way of getting to daddy's money to pay for one of their own countrymen.
Feel sad for that child. Hope natalees family gets the peace they deserve

Don't get me wrong - I feel for her family and they deserve closure, but I find it very curious that this news comes out a few days before her dad's show premiered on one of the cable networks.

Supposedly he got the tip in 2015. It is odd that it took over a year for anything to come of it. Maybe he needed the show"s resources to pursue it? Never heard of the show until now but now I'm intrigued.
