napping woes again - working moms
so my dd (6.5 months) will fight a nap with me tooth and nail.
she puts up a little fight with everyone (i say she has FOMO lol), but with me, it's really bad. like gets so overtired and cries uncontrollably. it's so sad to see. it literally takes over an hour sometimes for her to finally give in. i will not have her cry uncontrollably for that long, i will pick her up and soothe her and retry.
do you think it's a combo of wanting to be with me when im home and because she's with different people all week with different styles?
she is either with my dh, my mom, or my MIL. im sure they each have a slightly different nap routine. should i try to make them all do the same thing? the thing is, she isnt home for half of the week to be in her crib anyway. sometimes she's in a crib, soemtimes a pack n play, sometimes a stroller etc.
i think i will speak to them and see what they are doing for her naps and ill actually mimic them.
does this happen with anyone else? im thinking/hoping its just a phase like everything else.

Re: napping woes again - working moms
right there with you!! DD is also 6.5 months. Daycare full time and she fights the naps at all costs!! I have been trying to do a better job of putting her in her crib and letting her cry a little but I'm weak!! Daycare says she is he same way... cries like a maniac because she is over tired and wont let herself fall asleep! Hope it's a phase too!!!!!!!!!

mine do the same. They are 11 months. Still hoping it's a phase.

It's pretty normal.
I'd try coming up with a nap routine and having everyone stick to it. Also, I'd stop the stroller naps for now.

Re: napping woes again - working moms
I think a lot of babies/toddlers fight sleep.
When DS was an infant, I had to nurse him to sleep - it was the only way I could get him to sleep.
Daycare would literally bounce him in the bouncer until he fell asleep and then they would transition him to the crib.
Now at 23 months, daycare pats his back until he falls asleep. I put him in his crib and let him CIO for EVERY. SINGLE. NAP. I used to nurse him before his nap and I think that would relax him so there was a lot less crying. I am trying to break the nap/nurse association...

napping woes again - working moms
We established a bedtime routine at first and then about a month later transitioned it to a naptime routine. DS1 was great until a little after 2 when he decided he didn't nap anymore. DS2 is still going strong as an excellent napper. I think it's really important to have 1 routine and stick to it, but make sure he can put himself to bed at night too so you're not expecting too much from him!

I agree...my girls were all with different people throughout the week...my first was a terrible napper for a lot of reasons (all my own doing), but with my second and third, I established a napping routine and made everyone follow it. We all put them down at about the same time and the same way...they didn't sleep in the same places, but we all used the same white noise app. so that they recognized that at least. It really helped my girls and myself.
