Napa or Sonoma?
we only have 1 day to do a tour from San Francisco and we wont have a car so we have to do a tour that leaves from SF. Any preferences to one place over the other? TIA

Re: Napa or Sonoma?
Napa - more notoriety; more big-name wineries; glitzier (?)
Sonoma - more laid back, cheaper
We personally liked Sonoma more. Since we're not big winos (we like to drink it but don't know a lot about wine), we felt more comfortable in Sonoma. But honestly, both are beautiful and have some great vineyards!
Have fun!

Re: Napa or Sonoma?
If I could go back and do it again, I'd do Sonoma.
We did a bunch of vineyards/stayed in Napa and then met my cousin for dinner one night in Sonoma and liked it so much more.

Re: Napa or Sonoma?
They have this square in the middle of the town with restaurants and stuff right there. I didn't feel the same quaintness in Napa.
As for vineyards, I liked going to the smaller ones as opposed to the larger well known ones - you got more bang for your buck and usually the wines were more pricey.

We've only done Sonoma and we did that because we wanted a less touristy feel. We LOVED Sonoma.
We stayed in a bed and breakfast right off the town square and walked to lunch and dinner...it was wonderful!
