Nanny/sitter Q

I have a few questions on nannies/sitters that work out of their house.

- How much do they charge per day?
- How do you work it out when you work PT?
- How many hours do they work for FT working moms?
- What are you looking for when hiring them? (set-up, rooms, crib, etc..)
- Do they need any State requirements?

My daughter is going to a sitter's house starting Sept. 5. She is licensed by the state for a family daycare, but Becky will be one of only 3 kids (she's 18 months) although I think she's allowed to have up to 6 kids. The woman charges $6 per child per hour, and provides everything except diapers & wipes. She has playpens/cots for naps, plenty of toys, does crafty things, etc. This woman is very flexible. When I met her, Becky was going to be there full time, then DHs schedule changed, so she is only going to be there 4.5 hours a day. It was not an issue. Because she is licensed, she has to have all kinds of classes (CPR, first aid, etc) and has to be fingerprinted. She also has a visit or 2 every year.
