Naming the Baby
If you picked out a name before the baby is/was born did you call him or her by name while you are/were pregnant?
We think we settled on a name but I'm on the fence about using it. In our family some people have started calling the baby by name once they picked one. I don't plan on sharing the name with everyone regardless but maybe between DH, myself and our immediate family, our parents already knew the names we liked.

we are  so i can't REALLY answer this but I will tell you that IF we did know the sex of the baby we would not call it by its chosen name, or get name letters, or anything with the baby's name on it, until it actually arrived. a lot of people do this, but it's just not our thing. everyone's different.

Plus, we're not telling people our name choices. I would be nervous about slipping

We call the baby "JJ". When I told Sasha that I was going to have a baby-- her first question was, what's his name? As it is when any new person/thing/character/animal is introduced to her.
Our name begins with a J, so I just came out with JJ.
We are also not telling anyone the name, and if she knew, well-- it would no longer be a secret.

That is how I originally felt. Then we found out the sex and both sets of parents knew the 2 girl names we had been throwing around already. We told them which name we were leaning towards after seeing her on the sono. I hope my MIL didn't start telling people. Same for my mother. I better tell them to keep quiet. I bet 20 people know by now  and I don't want to hear any opinions!
Part of me wants to settle on the name and start calling the baby by name but part of me feels silly doing that. We do have a nickname that we've been calling the baby since we found out I was pregnant so at least we have something to call her for now.

Everyone knows the babys name will be Aiden. Noone calls the baby by his name. And when i refer to the baby i just say he/him or the baby.

We are team , but we have pretty much settled on our names. But, until it is born and "officially" named, in our opinion, it doesn't have a name.
Besides, as much as we love our names, there is no way to be 100% sure that we wont change our minds when we see that little face.

We have two choices and our immediate family knows them. My family calls the baby by one of the choices. Until we decide for sure I just say Baby Boy. I think even when the name is decided I will still call him Baby Boy until he's actually here.
