UGH!
Mil will not get off our backs about finding out what the name is. I have NO IDEA what her deal is. My dh told her what he liked when we first announced the pregnancy and she immediately went into a tailspin of how she didn't like it and why we shouldn't name OUR baby that.
Um, first of all it's our kid, we'll name it whatever we want. She just keeps harping on it all the time, "if you'd just come up with a name for the kid"
I've told her numerous times, that even if we came up with a name we wouldn't want to announce it until after he is born because I don't need to hear everyone's opinions on it. I've tried the bad luck thing too and I get snarky remarks about how we found out the sex so what does it matter. I just want to bang her head against a wall, (not mine, I'm too cute for that  )
We just had her on the phone last night and she said it again. We just sat there and looked at each other like wtf! GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! Tell me you're going through the same sh!t??

At this point, I'd torture her back. We know...but we're not gonna tell you. You'll have to wait like everyone else. If she pushes, tease her and tell her some really weird name and let her go off. Try to make light of it if you can...

i would just not talk to her about it anymore. Just say you'll let her know when the baby is born. My MIL tried to pull some crap about who she wants our baby named after and my DH said, "we do what we want". I ended up just telling her what I chose and she couldn't say anything at that point.

We didnt discuss with ILs. There were some people I did discuss with because I knew they wouldnt judge. We weren't sure on a second name and went to the hospital with 2 names and chose one the morning after they were born.
We just kept telling people we had no clue on names. They kept hinting and suggesting (ANNOYING) but we held our ground. I said if anyone had an issue they would be told that if they dont like the name they dont need to be in the babies lives and that they got to name their kids, now its our turn. Luckily no one bitchhed and I didnt have to be a bitchh.
Tell her that for every day she harps on you about a name you will take an extra day in choosing a name or telling her the baby's name

just give her a fake name to shut her up, lol. then when baby is born name the baby what you want and just say you changed your mind, hhaaa!

If we give her a fake name, and then name the baby something else, we'll hear about it. When dh told her what name he prefers, she didn't like it and then made LISTS of names she prefers. LISTS, like pages of names. She also wants us to name after a certain family member, who as I've said to her, I have never heard one good story about so WHY would I name my kid after him?
I have a preferred name and dh has a preferred name. We both don't hate each others names, but prefer the ones we picked. I'm not settling one way of the other till the kid is out!
