Nail polish with phthalates
Have you heard that nail polish can contains chemicals toxic to the fetus?
I cannot seem to find ingredients on my bottles. Is there a need to be worried?

Re: Nail polish with phthalates
A friend of mine was all in to this last year when she was pregnant. If I can remember correctly she mentioned Opi nail polish as being on the list as "harmful!" I remember her being overly concerned and purchasing her own polish and bringing it with her to her pedicures!
I however continue to get pedicures every week and haven't thought about it once! Nail Polish Article

Re: Nail polish with phthalates
I saw it in this months issue of Fit Pregnancy. I use Nailtique and I am concerned it might have it in it, but it does not list the ingredients.

I have heard of this but I haven't been concerned about it. I figure that I feel good when I have nice nails and that benefit outweighs a risk that may not many not be a real risk.

Re: Nail polish with phthalates
I think it is scary that so many chemicals are put into the products we use everyday.
I for one take these things seriously. Nail polish not only has DBP in it, but also formaldehyde and toulene. The thought of using something that contains formaldehyde on my body freaks me out.
I am not much of a pedicure/manicure person, but do do my own nails once in a while. In order to not have to worry about it, I just bought some polish that does not contain any of these ingredients. I got it at Wild By Nature and the brand name is No Miss. I used it for my sisters wedding this weekend, opting out of the normal mani/pedi and it worked fine. I researched some others like Honeybee brand, but those you have to order on line.
I figure why not use it for peace of mind.
