I want to plan a weekend in Mystic, CT.
we have a 2 year old and 9 month old. Where should we stay?
I've heard of the Whaler's Inn and Hyatt Place. Which would be better for a family trip?
is it best to take the ferry from Orient? we're in Huntington.
any other suggestions on restaurants, attractions, etc. would be much appreciated.
thanks!

I've stayed at the Hyatt Place twice with my daughter and it's great. The rooms are big and the breakfast is included which was decent. We always drive around instead of taking the ferry. We usually visit the aquarium, Seaport (they have a great children's area) and walk down on the Main Street.

We take the PJ Ferry since we live nearby. I absolutely hate NYC traffic, so would never drive around. Totally worth the cost to me.
Hyatt Place is great!

The Whaler's Inn is very nice, never stayed at the Hyatt.
Wherever you stay, make sure you go to Ten Clams in Old Mistick Village for lobster rolls!

Re: Mystic, CT
Take the Orient Ferry, it's such a nicer, prettier ride than the PJ ferry. Even the drive out is lovely and during the week there is no traffic heading out that way. Once you're on the CT side, you're only like 15'ish minutes from Mystic.

thanks for your responses.
I booked it. We're staying at the Hyatt Place for 2 nights.
what restaurants do you recommend?
besides the aquarium and seaport, any other must sees?

I think for 2 nights that's enough
