my trip to L&D and a question

On Sunday I noticed I started having BH contrax, and after a while I noticed I was having more than 4 in an hour so I called my doc and they told me to go to the hospital just to get checked out. They did a test called FFN (I think) to test for pre-term labor and it came back negative, which is a great sign being that I am only 26 1/2 weeks. And then they did an internal and my cervix was closed, another YAY! They hooked me up to the monitor and it turns out that I was having contrax every couple of minutes, they gave me IV fluids and after that 2 shots of something to stop the contrax. The shots worked for a while but then they started soming back. Then they gave me procardia and they finally stopped. I am now to take the procardia every 6 hours, but I still feel some contractions even on the pills. But it is a lot better than it was on Sunday.

Now I have a question - since my cervix was closed does that mean that I can not be leaking fluids?
It seems like my panty liner is always damp - not soaked. But then I don't know if it's sweat. I am so confused and nervous about everything.

you can still be leaking amniotic fluid even if your cervix is closed. to determine if what you are leaking is urine, normal discharge or amniotic fluid, dr will need to do ph test on the discharge. it is very simple, but talk to your dr. i have the same thing ( a lot of dicharge) and this test was done for me along with vaginal cultures.

I would have the dr check and do an exam to see if they think its fluid or not.

It could just be dehydration. The midwife warned me about pre-term labor bc my amniotic fluid level is low. She threatened sending me to the hospital and putting me on an IV if I didnt increase my fluid. She recommended that I drink 1 gallon of fluids per day and no tea of any kind.
