My throat hurts....
What if i have strep???
What would that do to the baby?? Would antibiotics be ok to take?
I want to cry.... I am staying home today and drinking a lot of water and going to take some emergen-C and natural throat lozenges....
Should I call my dr. (OBGYN) and just tell them my throat hurts? I dont have a general practitioner dr.

yes---your ob can treat u.
You can take antibiotics pregnant.
I would try tylenoyl first and give it one day.
if your throat is so bad its closed up--red and has pus pockets call doc today.
Feel better.
The baby will be ok

just take the regular kind---I dk if there is a certain kind for sore throat-but I know reg tylenoyl) is safe and (tylenoyl reduces swelling so it should make the soreness go away. )
If it is infected it will not work and u will know.
The more I think about it...take it and then just call and give them the heads up that it hurts in case it does not improve.
Do your glands hurt on the side of your neck?
ugh. I spelt the medication wrong...sorry...bad spelling is a peeve of mine but Ii am too lazy to fix it.

Ok - I won't be scanning the medicine aisle for that new stuff - Tylenoyl... 
No - my glands do not hurt when I squeeze them - thats a good thing, I'm sure....

i stayed home with a sore throat today too! it was hurting yesterday and today it's pretty bad again  .
I've had a cold the past few weeks, so I'm thinking it's from the dripping mucus....mmmmm

just rest, drink Oj, tylenol, and give them the heads up. I would not take antibiotics yet.
If u do not feel better by tomorrow I would go for a strep test.

(this happened from all that packing and everything all by yourself! u wore out!)

I know too that sometimes when you move and pack, you are spreading all kinds of crap all over the place - anytime I ever got sick was when I was packing - I'm praying I can still do this - I am so far behind in packing because I've been under the weather all weekend and DH has been sick too...
I am still devoting some portion of the day to packing/moving - maybe tonight when stepdaughters are over to help....

If you have been moving it could well be from post nasal drip (from the dust) but I can't think it would hurt to call the dr and ask for a script to go to a lab and have a quick strep culture done - then you will know. There are certain antibiotics that are okay to take when you are pregnant.
If you have strep you usually have a headache - and fever and sometimes nausea - but that is not 100% the case.
Until then - drink tons of extra fluids, ice pops for the pain, tylenol is okay and gargling should help with warm salt water.

I had a sore throat for over a week that I just got over. I saw my regular doctor and she did a strep test and it was neg. She did feel my glands and said they were swollen, but Antibiotics don't help for swollen glands I should also add that when *I* felt my glands, they didn't hurt. I didn't take tylenol, I just dealt with it. I drank lots of water and bought some ludens throat drops. Just don't get Chrolaseptic (like I almost did), as it's a class C drug.

Hmm, I would be careful on that Chloraspetic and Allegra . www.safefetus.com has them both listed as a class C drug.

I've had a soar throat for 2 weeks now and my doc finally gave me a prescription for antibiotics. After 3 days I feel so much better.
Hope you get some relief soon.

I'm sick again too It's so frustrtaing. I have the sore throat and the stuffy nose, sneezing  I don't feel like taking anything either. I'm resting and drinking lots of fluids. At least it's not the hacking cough I had for 3 weeks again!

Be careful with some of the natural remedies. You'll need to steer clear of Zinc during PG, and also echinacea and goldenseal root (all can bring on early contractions if taken too much). Also slipperly elm bark in a lozenge or tea is a no-no 
I have been feeling badly too, and I am taking honey ricola.

I only had a few. Hopefully it will be ok - I wont take anymore.... No contractions so far, so I think I'm good!
