My sisters ROCK!
I dont know if you remember my post some weeks back about that ridiculously expensive needlepoint canvas of the bunny I wanted to get for the baby's room - at that point, not knowing what we were going to have. The cost of the canvas had been about $460, the threads would have cost more and to finish the project would bring the grand total of the whole thing to close to $1000. Insane. No normal person would do it - then again, I am not normal.
BUT much to my surprise, throughout my entire TTC/IF process, my two older sisters, who are also highly skilled needlepointers, took it upon themselves to scour the internet and was able to purchase not only the bunny but three other canvases on Ebay for $60 each and kept that purchase a secret. So now, Ed-lie will have a menagerie in her nursery consisting of:
A cat:
A teddy bear:
A turtle:
And the bunny:
Each one of the three of us will take one animal to make and whoever finishes first, I assume, will make the fourth. The rose family of colors will be changed to pink, the blues to lavender and the gold/mustard to sunny and softer yellows. Also, the greens will me a more yellow-based green rather than a bluish green. That would make the animals a bit more feminine and brighter. The little bears, bunnies and cats should will be made to look furry/wooly.
I know this may not be a big deal to most, but they gave this so much thought so many months in advance and, IMO, there is nothing better than homemade gifts. I am so excited!!!

Wow. Actually my jaw just dropped when I read that you are getting all of those. I remember the post about them and how expensive they are. This is great news. Your nursery will really come together when the time comes!!

Yeah they do!
MIL is knitting the coming home outfit.
Mom is crocheting the Ed-lie's afghan.
And I have all of this stuff that my grandmother knitted for babies well before I was born that was never used. It had been stored in boxes and is in 100% perfect condition. All it needs is to be refreshed at the drycleaners.

Yeah I was really taken back by thier generosity. These projects are extremely time consuming over being expensive.I am really grateful.

wow, that was an amazing gift!
yay! you now can have not only your canvas animal, but a whole menagerie  Even better, there will be a different animal from mom, and both aunts!
