My puppy is driving me crazy!!!!!

She has tons of toys and bully bones yet she still is chewing on everything!! She goes from one piece of furniture to another. I tell her no, and she walks away and chews on something else. I pick her up and she chews on me. She is only like this at certain times of the day. I had enough and I put her in her crate for awhile with her toys. She is sitting quietly chewing. I can't wait until her adult teeth come in!!

Re: My puppy is driving me crazy!!!!!

What breed of dog is she? She could also need some extra exercise...it may not be only a teething behaviour.

She is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. She is very little, only about 6lbs. I bring her out to run a few times a day, and that is enough for her. She usually calms down after that. She just has been teething a lot the past few days, and it is so hard. I just brought her out again to play, and it seemed to calm her down. SHe is chewing on her bone.

It can. It is not 100% though. You can also try lemon juice, pepper mixed with water, curry mixed with water.....but then you have those smells on your furniture.

I see. I love KCCS. Maybe a chilly bone might help as well. Or you could freeze a clean, wet washcloth.

Next time I go to the store I will get a chilly bone. I have a chew toy that can be frozen, but she likes her other toys better. SHe Loves her Bully Bone!!

I don't blame you! It is the only thing that worked for my Pug, since he has a really bad sense of smell. It was the worst 2 weeks & took some serrious steam cleaning to get the smell outChat Icon

Bitter Apple is hit or miss. I actually had a dog who liked the taste, and it never worked for all other animals/dogs I've had (tried w/ 2 other dogs and a ferret). You can try it.

I would definitely try lemon juice. We've had some good results w/ it w/ past pets.

Hang in there

It's ok if Penny gets a "time out" once in a while if she needs to calm down a little.

It worked for us for our yorkie. We sprayed the furniture she would chew at or scratch at, or anything she ut in her mouth to chew, including our fingers. We sprayed it in the area near her face at times (but block their eyes), so she knew she was being bad.

If she's young and teething, you may need to get some chew toys for her.

We should invest in stock for the numeber of nylabones we purchase for Daisy. She chews through them like there is no tomorrow, but at least she doesn't chew on non-toys anymore.

She has plenty of chew toys. Sometimes she chews them, and other times she decides it would be more fun to chew the furniture or her wee wee pads. Right now she is lying down with her bone.

Does she have a Kong? This keeps Katie busy for quite some time.

Re: My puppy is driving me crazy!!!!!

Welcome to my world! - LOL

Bella is 5-months and same thing, she has a million toys from chew ones, to treat ones and bones and for some reason she loves the corner of the coffee table the best Chat Icon. She also only does this certain times and not every day, it's a hit or miss but when she gets in her mood, there is no stopping her. They grow out of it and to tell you the truth from when we first got her at 9-weeks, it has got so much better and eventually she will prob stop all together.

Just try to keep them occupied all the time. Get bones that will last and not just treats that she eats and then goes about her business. It helps to also take them outside, let her run around, get the energy out and then she will most likely not attack the furniture so much.
