My Progress - Or Lack Thereof
So at 37.5 weeks my OB said my cervix is nowhere near ready for delivery. And the baby is still high up - (-4 station). I know it's still early and I have another 2 weeks and change to go before my due date, but my doctor is talking about possible induction. My fluid is low-normal and if it diminishes any more by my next appointment, he is going to want to schedule an induction. I really don't want to be induced especially if I am not dilated or effaced at all and the baby hasn't dropped. He said it makes the induction much less successful and labor harder.
I plan on doing as much walking as I possibly can to try and get this little girl to drop down. I also heard the exercise balls help. Anyone else have any tips or success stories for inspiration?

Do NOT panic about this yet. I wasn't effaced and was 1cm dilated until the day I went into labor. A friend of mine walked around at 3cm for weeks. Early progress doesn't seem to mean much. These babies just show up when they feel like it!

Dont get discouraged!!!
I was 1 cm dialated for 3+ weeks with DD.
However with that being said - DD arrived right on her due date after the following:
Lots of walks Excercise ball Delicous dinner out with DH 1 glass of wine and lets not forget....

Good Luck!
OH and June 15th is the full moon, maybe that and this heat wave will help too???

Re: My Progress - Or Lack Thereof
I just read an article and one of the tips (besides the ones already stated and the more well known ones) were to sit on a chair backwards in addition to bounce on a birthing ball, do squats, walk alot, etc .. anything to open your hips and let baby decend into the pelvic cavity ....
Apparently sitting straight up with legs open helps baby move down .. can't hurt, right?

Re: My Progress - Or Lack Thereof
Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I am going to do my best to stay active and walk and bounce on a ball in hopes that next weeks appointment brings some better progress

I feel your pain - at 38w 4d I was nowhere at all. Going to doctor tonight and praying for progress. I have tried ALL of the above things, and nothing has worked so far!
