my latest irrational fear about childbirth

ok, so, i haven't had too much expansion in the boob area... and aside from a little milk leakage a few weeks ago they've been pretty silent...

my milk glands are developing even though i'm not growing... right?

what if it's time to feed the baby after he's born and i haven't even got the colostrum? Chat Icon

I am sure they are growing and developing! My b00bs havent grown a terrible amount either- but I know they are growing because some colostrum leaked out the other day! I am sure you are fine! Chat Icon

ETA: At our breastfeeding class, they told us that the explusion of the placenta is actually what triggers the milk being made- so I think most of the development doesnt happen until after we give birth.

Mine haven't grown that much at all either. I am expecting cantaloupe proportions after the baby pops out. I am so glad they havent really grown yet.

i would try not to worry about it, I am sure you will be ok! Chat Icon

yeah... this is why i need to get my butt to a class, so that i stop freaking out about every little thing. that actually makes a lot of sense... so nothing truly happens until the baby is born. THANKS Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Mine have not grown. However, I had to have a breast sonogram during the pregnancy and on the INSIDE there were pregnancy related changes and engorged tissue.

Relax.Chat Icon Mine didn't grow so much this pregnancy either (well, it didn't seem like it until they shrunk back down), but 5 days after he was born....Chat Icon wow. Pamela Anderson would've been jealous. My maternity shirts could barely hold those things in! And if they're leaking before the baby, you likely won't have any issues with colustrum or your milk coming in. Just a hunch. Mine never leaked (before birth) and I never BF and yet for several weeks I had lots of milk!
