My Headaches... Follow Up

Just figured I'd post an update on me and my headache situation. As I mentioned last week, my doc sent me to L&D last Wed. b/c of my 2 week headache and elevated BP which would = risk of preeclampsia. I was told to do a 24 hour urine collection [not fun] and to return to my OB for a follow up 5 days later. So, DH and I went to the doc last night and told him that I am still getting headaches though the tylenol with codeine that was prescribed to me did help to ease them for a few hours.

My OB told me that my BP was a lot better than last week- 120/90 but that my urine did show abnormal protein levels, albeit slightly above the normal range. DH was forever my cheerleader and told the doc that I do too much at work, that I am scrambling to get loose ends tied up before being put on maternity leave on Sept. 26th and that my headaches are most frequent/intense when I am working. All of these statements were true and the next thing I know, DH and my OB have me going out from work on bedrest. I feel guilty about not being at work to get things organized before I was gonna leave, but I keep telling myself that everyone is replaceable. My DD and my health is what's most important now.

The next step is to keep the headaches at bay, do another 24 hour urine collection Thurs-Fri [oh joy!] and see the OB again next Monday. All I hope for is that my baby girl keeps on cooking for as long as possible. I'm so not ready to deliver now! Well, that's my story for now. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I'm glad your BP is better and your DH is quite the supporter. I hope things get better for you soon!

I am sure you are not replaceable at work, but they will be fine, they'll find a way to get things done I totally understand feeling bad about work, but you are right, your DD and your health are the most important thing right now.

Dont worry about work. They will handle it without you. Maybe not as good but the job will get done.
