My head is spinning
I go back to work on Monday and I am fortunate enough to have my mother and stepmom watching my ds. However, in September I will need daycare. I started looking today and I am *okay* with having him go then. However, as someone who follows a teacher's schedule ( I am an SLP) daycare centers s # $ @ as far as payment options. On top of things my schedule at work is awful. I am so stressed about this I want to CRY. Thanks for letting me vent

Re: My head is spinning
Reasons to love daycare: 1- They get your kid on a schedule 2 - They potty train for you 3 - They are full of advice on how to deal with "I do it myself" tantrums. 4 - Your kid will learn to share better if he's around other kids 5 - Your kid will get every germ to mankind and become super immune for elementary school. 6 - Your kid will get you sick & give you super immunity to germs as well. 7 - You will get a ton of crafts home from your child...paintings made from handprints, etc. 8 - Your baby will get used to other people & will have less stranger anxiety 9 - Opens up tons of new babysitting options by snagging teachers' phone numbers 10- You have no choice

It will be ok, once you are in a routine, things will fall into place.

Re: My head is spinning
I have been lucky to have my FH stay home during the day with our daughter since day 1 he works at nite but in a few months he will be switching his schedule so I had to find day care its gonna be a hard adjustment but its better for the child I think and I agree with what Barb said.
We are starting her off on monday for 2 days a week for 2 weeks then move up to 3 for the 2 weeks then the 5 so she gets use to it slowly.

I know its so hard to leave your little one...but after awhile you will welcome it..because it will give you time to have adult conversation and regroup.

Re: My head is spinning
going back to work is never easy..even if you love your job. I will say that Daycare has proven to be really wonderful for Molly. She LOVES playing with the other kids. She does a project everyday. There are so many daycares out there. You will know when you find the right one. Where do you live? Daycare is expensive no matter how you slice it, but you do get a tax credit for it so that helps a bit. As an infant I went with a daycare that did not schedule Molly, but rather followed her own schedule. That was important to me. So just make sure you keep looking and you will find the perfect one for you.
