My granddaughter is sleeping in a toddler bed tonite

Kylie is almost 18 mos. old. She had tried to climb out of the crib the other day while I was in the room. We all got very nervous and realized we can't take a chance. She could get badly hurt if she fell out. So for 2 nights my daughter slept on an air mattress till we figured out what to do. today Kylie loved playing on the mattress, laying and drinking her bottle and playing with her toys. My daughter went to BRU to see if they had a toddler bed that she liked. Meanwhile a friend of hers had seen that she wrote something on facebook and she wrote & said she had a bed she could give her. She saw one at BRU, then when she went to look at this one, it was almost the same so they said she could have it. the girls husband was going to bring it over. She came home and told Kylie that a man was bringing her a bed. She was SO excited when it came! She was laying on it, jumping on it, got changed on it. They had to take her crib apart and rearrange some things. They got her ready for bed. Took her in there and she sat in the bed and they read to her. Then while she was wide awake they said their goodnights, hugs and kisses. She had gotten out of the bed at that point. They both left the room and closed the door. She didn't make a peep. She climbed into the bed and laid down and went right to sleep! They were shocked, but needles to say, very happy that she just settled in like that. Hopefully she will sleep all night like she always does. She's a great sleeper!! This morning I told her to kiss her crib and say bye bye and she did. So sad that she's not a baby anymore.

Thats great that she loved her big girl bed! I hope my DS transition is just as easy when the time comes.
