My feel good story: Paying it forward...
in Sears.
Today I got an email from DS' school looking for donations for the family the school adopted for christmas. I chose to help by getting the little girl a hat and glove set that they said she needed. I knew I was going to be at the mall today and selected something at Sears (which I never shop at) and arranged for me to pick it up. After an eventful trip to see santa and a very long romp in the toddler play area (which DS is beginning to get way too big for) we made our way to Sears. After walking half the store with a 4 year old who needed to stop every three feet to look at something, including a near meltdown at the Spiderman slipper display, we made it to merchanise pick-up. Last time I went to Sears to pick something up, there was a counter with people helping....today there were four Sears executives standing around a computer kiosk. One guy asked for my receipt, he scanned it and said I'd have my item in five minutes or less....and then everyone started looking up at the monitor. There was my name...with the clock ticking...1 minute...2 minutes....
MOMMY....PLEASE CAN I TRY ON THOSE SPIDERMAN SLIPPPPPPPPEEEEEERRRRRSSSSSS??????????
3 minutes........
PLEASSSSEEEEE???????
4 minutes....
So then the executive tells me that I get a $5 gift card if they do not have my order in five minutes. I tell DS that if we do not have our scarf set in one more minute then he can take the $5 gc and use it to BUY the spiderman slippers! The executive then offered to go get the slippers while we continued to wait (ok way to tack on to the sale buddy) but I said ok!
5 minutes....(they gave me my gift card)...6 minutes.....7...8....9....10....
the executive comes back with slippers which my DS loved putting on and then he told him they were a gift for helping the girl in his school (I didnt even remember mentioning it in the store)
Well another 10 minutes later and another executive handed me a $5 coupon off my next purchase and I finally had my purchase.
So on my way out I handed my gift card and $5 coupon to an old woman standing in line and told her to have a happy holiday
Here's to paying it forward (and way to go Sears)

Wow, that's a great story! Very nice for Sears to acknowledge your time, and for you to pay it forward. Your boy is too sweet BTW, remembering why they were there. I don't think my DS would!
