Chat Icon Early intervention is KEY. I can't tell you how many parents tell me that their child was "completely different" when they were 2 years old before any interventions. The progress that can be made is unbelievable, and many of my students who are "classified" do not exhibit any (or very very little) signs of PDD or others ASD's

Re: My DS was just diagnosed with PDD, any advice?

Hi Robyn --- DS is also diagnosed with PDD.

First things first, early intervention is key. He is still so young and they are going to be able to do wonders to help him until age 3. If you haven't called yet, please do it as soon as possible!

Also, I know this is probably so overwhelming for you and your husband and it will take some time for you to comprehend, accept and go through all of the emotions.

Who diagnosed him and what were your concerns?

PDD is a very vague category and can include some real mild types. With the right interventions most children will streamline by kindergarten. It just takes a little more work to get them there.
