My doctor doesn't do internals?
I found this out last night. Is this true for anyone else's doctor. I thought they were a part of the process. All that will happen over the nexr appoinments is getting hooked up to the monitor and nothing else. How are they supposed to tell how dialated I am? Does this sound weird to you?

Honestly, that sounds odd to me.

My doctor doesnt do them either. He feels that it really is no indicaton as to when your going to go. That might have just been my case though becuase I was having a scheduled c - section

IMHO internals mean nothing. You can be dilated and effaced for a while. It really means nothing. Be happy you arent being violated!

Re: My doctor doesn't do internals?
I had them, hated them, and would bleed so much after. I would be happy not to have to go through them!! I think a lot of doctors are now moving away from them because its true that they do not predict when you'll go into labor.

Re: My doctor doesn't do internals?
I wouldn't be worried- honestly- I didn't even GET to the point where I had an internal b/c I had the baby at 36 1/2 weeks & she would've done an internal at 37 weeks- so I guess it is true that it is no indication of when you're going to go- when you go into labor, you go into labor.

My doctor didn't do them when I was pregnant with DD, because I had a scheduled C-section.

Re: My doctor doesn't do internals?
Thanks for the feedback! It just seemed weird to me that she wouldn't be checking the progress. She is so laid back, so whatever happens, happens. I guess we'll just wait and see.
