My Crepe Mrytle in Full Bloom
I'm so glad we pruned it this year. It really brought it alive.

WOW. What a difference! It's gorgeous!! Are you getting the itch to prune something else now? 
Different varieties must bloom at different times. My neighbor's white one is past bloom but I see other red and purples that are just starting to bloom around the neighborhood.

Thanks everyone! 
This just shows me that if you take care of something and prune it or whatever you should do for that certain plant, you are doing something good for it.
greenfreak......i'm so ready to prune something else. I think the Hydrangeas are getting pruned soon and I have to look into when I can prune the Japense Maple in the front. It's hanging down way to low into the sidewalk area.
ETA: And it still has more blooms that haven't opened yet. The whole tree has blooms this year....never has befor the pruning.  For the last 2 years it usually didn't bloom until August and didn't last for too long. This year between the pruning and all the very hot weather we had, it really loved it.
