My Crape Myrtle & Hydrangea (pics)
OK I took pics of my Crape Myrtle yesterday. I think it's fuller then last year. It blooms more on one side then the other because there is a big oak tree in my neighbors front yard.
This is how my pink Hydrangea looks right now. I love the colors and don't want to prune yet, but I know I have to this weekend.

You really have quite a specimen in that tree. Rusty agreed to put the CM on our short list of trees to plant in spring.
We need something that will not grow higher than the power lines above that area. We have a dogwood there now that will stay when everything else is removed.
It's funny - I was on a website this weekend that listed one of the 'uses' for this tree as 'under power lines'.

Thanks! I think with everything I have read so far, we will just prune a little to shape it better and that is it. I think this type of tree seems easy to prune if need be to keep "under the power lines". If need be. I'm glad to hear it's on your short list. Will it be away from the other trees? Only because the other side that is in more shade doesn't get too many blooms, but the other side that is in the sun all day gets all the blooms.

Good tip.
It will have sun from 7am until about 4pm in summer. That side of the house will be the best spot for all kinds of sun-loving plants, shrubs and trees - so I must choose wisely!
